Berta was a neighbour of ours in Islington in the mid 1990s. She was always turned out beautifully and was always full of interesting chat. We missed her when we moved away, as she and our neighbours on the other side made the street so friendly, and you don't always get that, especially in big cities like London. We kept in touch with Christmas cards and she always sent photos of her lovely grandchildren - how they have grown up: she was so proud of them!
